My name is Richard Greenwood, a nature & wildlife photographer based in Burley in Wharfedale, on the edge of the magnificent Yorkshire Dales.

I have always been interested in wildlife, especially birds, since I was a child, but my interest has been renewed with the advent of digital photography. I first picked up a digital SLR when I treated my self to a Canon 450D for my 40th birthday. This was coupled with a basic Tokina 80-400 zoom which proved to be a wonderful learning kit.

I have now upgraded my kit to a Canon 7D & a 100-400L IS zoom. All my photographs on this site are taken with this combination.  A large Canon prime still remains a dream to be fulfilled!!

 

I apply post-processing to my photos by using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop Creative Cloud.

My main interest remains birds, especially birds of prey, but I am also interested in mammals. Having spent a number of years as a sports diver, I have a huge interest in the life in, around & under our seas.
