This time of year at Strid Woods is one of my favourite times of the year. Woodland spring migrants descend on the woods, and because of the popularity of the area with walkers, they are very obliging. A lot of work is done by the estate to encourage nesting & lots of nest boxes are placed throughout the area. It does help, though, if you're prepared to get there really, really early to get the best opportunities.
